“Substance Abuse” and “issues” ?

Question by ninjagirlz: “Substance abuse” and “issues” ?
Why is it that it is said that all people who use “substances” have some sort of other issues, or that they use them to escape whatever their problems are ? Cant some people just use them occasionally because they like how they make them feel?? Just a thought.

Best answer:

Answer by JAMES A N

People do refer to this though because a large population of drug users get high for the sole reason of escaping reality, depression, physical pain or other underlying mental conditions.
