Why Do Drug Addicts Think They Are Better Than Everyone Else When They Quit Drugs for a Few Months?

Question by Bryson: Why do drug addicts think they are better than everyone else when they quit drugs for a few months?
My brother is like 20 and he had been on pretty strong drugs since high school. Now, he has been going to “counseling” and stuff and he has not used drugs (supposedly) in a few months. I think he is jusy playing the game though to get money and stuff from my parents, but that’s another story. Anyway he acts like he is better than everyone now, like he is such a great guy. He talks sh*t about my girlfriend behind my back saying that she is a drunk and all kinds of things. Have you known any people like this and why do they become like this? I honestly think he is still on something but “counseling” has taught him how to lie about it better.
