I don’t know if it’s a stupid question to ask hence “meth”ylphenidate.
Methylphenidate = ritalin right?

When people are talking about the street drug “meth”, they are referring to methamphetamine, not methylphenidate. Not a stupid question at all. Both drugs have chemical structures that contain a “methyl” group, and it is from there that their names are derived.
